Why should I use a disc jockey entertainment service instead of a live band?

Reliability-A DJ service has less staff to rely on to show up and provide an optimum performance.

Variety-The larger the guest list, the more variety needed in the music. Live bands are usually limited to what they can play well. Hot Jocks extensive music library can keep any crowd happy.

Dancing-People like to dance to the music they are familiar with. Hot Jocks plays the original versions of your favorite music.

Cost-Fewer personnel at your affair can mean lower cost to you. The professional staff at Hot Jocks will provide your favorite music at a reasonable rate.

Sound-A DJ service can tailor the sound level much easier than a live band can. Hot Jocks will reduce the volume level during cocktails and meals to allow your guests to chat comfortably; music will typically be played somewhat louder during dancing, but this is totally at your discretion. We also will adjust the sound system to the reception room, making the sound pleasing to you and your guests.

Participation-DJ Services tend to offer more activities than bands. Hot Jocks MCs will lead your guests in various games, contests, specialty dances, etc., all to encourage more active participation by all of your guests.

How will the staff dress?

For a formal affair, MCs and DJs will dress in full tuxedo (men) or formal dress (women). Assistants (if any) will dress in jacket and tie (men) or dress (women). Less formal attire is available by request.

How will the staff know the order of events?

A Hot Jocks representative will meet with you (in person if possible, otherwise by phone) to go over the order of events with you, and to help you complete it. Copies of the relevant sections of the planner will be provided to the appropriate staff members. From the start of the event to it's conclusion, we will handle your function professionally and smoothly so all you need to do is sit back, relax, and have fun!

Why does the reception planner ask for contact names and phone numbers of the caterer, photographer, etc.?

Receptions don't run smoothly by accident. Planning and coordination are required between all members of the party team. The MC will coordinate all events with the other party professionals on your team, both before and during the party, to insure a smooth and enjoyable affair.

What type of audio and lighting equipment will Hot Jocks use?

Hot Jocks doesn't cut corners on equipment. We use only top-notch professional equipment from companies such as JBL, Peavey, Denon, and Shure. Inferior equipment, often used in an effort to cut costs, can result in static, inadequate bass, distortion, and generally poor sound.

What music will be played at my reception?

Hot Jocks plays music with tremendous mass appeal, as well as requests made by you and your guests. On the planning sheets, you can indicate specific musical requests, and what types of music you feel are appropriate (and also what types are inappropriate) for your reception. Our DJs will use the information from the planning sheets along with their professional judgment in selecting music, and in honoring or declining specific requests.

What if I request music that Hot Jocks doesn't own?

Our music collection is quite large, and does include most common requests. However, if you give us an advance request for music that we don't have, we'll try to buy it in time for your affair. The further in advance we receive the request, the more likely we'll be able to get it. This service is offered at no additional charge, but we do reserve the right to limit the number of selections that you ask us to buy specifically for your party. We can also play music from CDs, records, or tapes that you or your guests loan to us.

Will you invite client prospects to my reception?

No. Inviting prospective clients to someone else's reception can lead to an inappropriate, if not embarrassing situation for both clients and Hot Jocks staff.
